Joint project OptProKomp<\/h2>\n

Optimized process chain for the generation of demand-oriented material properties for extremely stressed machine and plant components<\/p>\n

In almost all industrial areas<\/strong>, economic objectives such as increasing productivity while simultaneously increasing energy and resource efficiency, combined with lightweight construction or component miniaturization, lead to constantly increasing power densities and thus to ever higher static and dynamic component stresses. In addition to the design of components to meet the demands of the application, the material steel, which is optimally suited to such demands, is becoming increasingly important.<\/p>\n

In a joint project with VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH, Steeltec GmbH and M\u00fcnster University of Applied Sciences (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Laboratory for Materials Engineering), Eich Rollenlager GmbH is working on research<\/strong> into and optimisation of a process chain for the manufacture of components for mechanical and plant engineering for extreme static and dynamic loads. By means of an innovative thermally and mechanically optimized hot forming process adapted to the required material properties of the component and the manufacturing process at the end manufacturer, finely structured steels with optimum properties adapted to the stress are to be produced with significantly reduced energy input. Their application in plant engineering and mechanical engineering enables the production of highly stressed components with significantly longer service lives and an optimized process chain.<\/p>\n

In addition to stress and damage analyses, Eich’s work focuses on optimizing the process chain in the manufacture of spring bushings or spring roller bearings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The joint project is supported by the European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
